5 Methods
5.1 Overview
In this document, registration is understood as 2D-to-2D non-rigid image registration, i.e., it is
the matching of two two-dimensional images. One image is an atlas, which is derived from a
model (template); the other image is based on measured fMRI data (reference). The images
are shown in Figure 35. The general problem can then be described as follows. Given two im-
