3.8 Types of Flat Maps
There are anatomical flat maps and functional flat maps. It is possible to overlay functional
data from fMRI experiments onto anatomical data, as can be seen in Figure 15 later in this
chapter. Anatomical flat maps are obtained by flattening the folded gray matter. Therefore,
they are flattened representations of the cortical gray matter.
