Results 171 7.3.1.5 Boundaries, Iso-angle ROIs, and Energy Maps In addition to displaying visual-area ROIs, mrFindBorders can display the boundaries between visual areas. A measured phase-wedge image with overlaid boundaries can be seen in Figure 55 (top left). The top-right image shows iso-angle lines. Each iso-angle line can be saved as a separate file. The two images at the bottom show energy maps. They are based on the squared differences between the measured phase-wedge image and the corresponding warped atlas im- age. Each squared difference is weighted with the corresponding coherence value. If the en- ergy weight for the ring-stimulus case had been larger than zero, the phase-ring images and the corresponding coherence matrices would also have influenced the energy maps.
