Results 167 7.3.1.3 Measured Phase-wedge Images With Marked ROIs Figure 53 shows intermediate results as well as the final result. All visual areas (V3d, V2d, V1, V2v, and V3v) have been marked in the measured phase-wedge images. The final result is very similar to a result that an experienced human expert would create by manual segmenta- tion and classification. It can be seen that noise influenced the drawn boundary between V2v and V3v. The effect could be reduced by specifying a higher deformation energy weight. The disadvantage of this was that the deformed atlas would not match the data as closely any more.
