7.3 Measured Image Data
Using measured flat maps instead of artificial images allows a more realistic evaluation of the
performance of mrFindBorders. Two different flat maps based on a rotating wedge visual
stimulus are presented in this section. Many of the results, which mrFindBorders produces, are
shown for the first flat map. For the second flat map, only the main results are presented.
7.3.1 Data Set 1 (Alyssa)
7.3.1.1 Options and Settings
For the first data set10, the coherence threshold was set to zero, i.e., all phase values were
used. No noisy regions were manually excluded. The initially aligned atlas was created by
specifying three points. The options for atlas creation and matching can be seen in Figure 51.
For example, it can be seen that two iterations were done on very-low-resolution images, three
iterations on low-resolution images, and two iterations on high-resolution images.
